CODES & CONVENTIONS: How the front cover of a magazine portrays a certain image

To understand how I can get my magazine to appeal to my target audience, I have done some research into:

1.How magazines on the market today use certain conventions to appeal to their audience.

2. Demography- What certain techniques do to suggest a demographic.

After looking at these magazine covers I have decided that for my magazine I want to incorporate the bold fonts but instead of using such a bright image i want to use one with more attitude.
